A dream of golden age burlesque brought to life before your very eyes! Performing Sassy stripteases since 2006, Viola’s impeccable sense of theatricality and captivating command of old school burly-q and classic showgirl dance styles sees her at the forefront of Australia’s burlesque comeback. Viola began her career in 2006 at La Lola Salon - Lola the Vamp's school of burlesque. Her early routines made a great impression on her tutor and she was soon offered the role of head teacher. Viola has not looked back since – 3 years on and VV’s success continues to ripple, her titillating shimmy shakin burly q performances and striking pin up portfolio quickly becoming the stuff of legend and earning her just place in Neo Burlesque History. Of late Viola has performed up to a record 8 shows per weekend! A favourite on the East Coast Australia and North Island New Zealand burlesque touring circuit, VV has headlined a string of festivals and shows, becoming a darling of the club scene and Dr Sketchy both at home in Oz and across the Tasman. Viola has performed with and alongside class acts such as Angie Pontani (of the World Famous Pontani Sisters, New York), Lola the Vamp, Tigerlil (La La Parlour, Happy Sideshow), Blowfly “The Godfather of Filth” and even much acclaimed Aussie hip hoppers Butterfingers. VV has also appeared in a variety of music film clips and short films including “Tease” by Bronwyn Cottle and Tim Rogers’ Film Clip “Goodnight Boys”. A woman of many talents, Viola’s passion for Burlesque doesn’t end on the stage. VV designs and creates exquisite costumes for her acts. From the page to the stage this showgirl stitches sequins, glues crystals and fluffs feathers for everything from pasties to pantaloons. In 2008, Viola was honoured to have the “Viola Corset” designed for her by acclaimed designer Cassi Simpson of Silk Orchard Corsetry. Australian Kustom Kulture Couture label “My Little Rockabilly” also paid tribute to Viola recently with the launch of their all organic and cruelty free “Viola” make up range. In 2007, Viola added another feather to her fan, promoting and tour managing the National Tour’s of burlesque shows “Bohemia” and “Once Upon a Tease” starring Lola the Vamp, La Viola Vixen, Mina von Lustern, Miss B.B le Buff, Kitty Conquest and Lady Laine. She has since become a key contributor to Brisbane’s Burlesque scene with “The Rock and Roll Revue” – a live rock and roll/burlesque/sideshow troupe of which she is the founder, manager and promoter as well as a performer. The daughter of a wild Poet/Playboy Magazine Cover Girl and Night Club Owner/Music Promoter, Viola was touring Australia in a vintage Mercedes with the likes of Eartha Kitt as early as 6yrs old! And with a whole lotta shimmy and plenty of bump’n’grind, she dreams of staying on the road for may years to come. September 2009 sees this Vintage Vixen take on New York for the first time.
